摘要：The invention relates to a procedure and a device for automatic and

semiautomatic welding, the welding rod being drawn from a supply unit and being fed toan automatic welding machine. In order to minimise or avoid stoppages duringreplacement of the supply and interruptions in larger welding operations and also toensure and if need be to inspect and document the quality of the joint, provision is madeaccording to the invention to determine in a first step the total weight of the welding rodin the supply unit and in a second step to measure a respective residual weight during thewithdrawal, to feed the measuring data and further data to a monitoring and analysingunit and to process this data into relevant data which is displayed and/or used forcontrolling the automatic welding machines and/or for quality control and the like.
