advice from the older

来源:二三四教育网
As the ever-accelerating society makes our life more convoluted, people, particularly those stand on the crossroad of their life, are tend to encounter assorted dilemmas. Some people hold the claim that peers with their sparkling imagination are the best companion clarifying our way. Nevertheless, I would share the belief with many others that the veteran outshine those young fledgling.

My first convicting argument is the older embrace copious social experience so that they are inclined to present advice concerned with reality. Lessons engraved in their young age convert into precious treasure thus facilitating them to unveil the underlying risks and take every scenario into account. By contrast, cursory are the suggestions proposed by the young who base their ideas on a fecund imagination. A compelling instance is that before Lloyd Webber dropped Oxford in order to pursue his dream in music, he had consulted his mentor Mr White about his confusion. Despite that the mentor demonstrated the possible frustrations he might confront during this arduous long way, he still emboldened Webber to persist in his own dream because from his perspective, interest severs as a perpetual incentive in one’s life. Abide by his advice, Webber was determined to apply for the Royal Academy of Music in which he was nurtured to be an eminent musician later.

Besides, older people are more likely to be quipped with solid knowledge foundation. Compared with young people, they own higher education and some of them are even experts in a specific domain such as our bosses and our teachers. Hardly could a peer give us a constructive answer when an abstruse question is beyond their knowledge spectrum. When Steve Jobs was deemed as the genius in his high school, he felt so isolated because no one at his age can share his interest in computer let alone solving the conundrums in this realm. Fortunately, he met Larry Long, a senior computer engineer that addressed obscure problems for him and elevated him on the ladder of computer. Moreover, owning to the process that they have translated theory into practice, their advice tend to be more feasible. For example,a student of Philip Kotler wanted to initiate his own business on new media but failed at first. Then he turned to Professor Kotler for help. Mr. Kolter probed into not only the potential market but also the commodities of competitors which aid the products to insert in a niche market and avoid homogeneity as others. Those analysis eventually resulted in the resurgence of the company.

In conclusion, the senior ample with social and intellectual knowledge are marvelous guiders illuminating our dim life road. I reaffirm that advice from them are unparalleled to those superficial ones put forward by the young.
